2025 NCBA KAGC SEASON KICKS OFF WITH THE ICONIC SIGONA BOWL

The 66th edition of the NCBA Sigona Bowl will be held from January 24th to 26th at Sigona Golf Club. This prestigious tournament marks the beginning of the 2025 season for the NCBA sponsored Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC), a year-long series featuring 31 events across the country.

Originally, 186 players had registered for the Sigona Bowl, but only 156 will compete in accordance with the terms of the competition. The event has attracted a diverse field of players, including participants from golf clubs across Kenya, as well as international golfers from Tanzania, China, Great Britain, Rwanda, and Uganda.

“The Sigona Bowl is an iconic event on our calendar, and we’re excited to kick off the 2025 KAGC season with it. We are immensely grateful to NCBA for their continued support of amateur golf in Kenya. Their Ksh 6 million sponsorship for 2025 plays a vital role in elevating the game and providing a platform for both local and international players to showcase their talent.” said Mr. David Ndung’u, Chairman of the Kenya Golf Union.

The 54-hole stroke play Championship will take place over 3 days. All players will compete in the first two rounds, after which the top 33 players, along with ties, will make the cut to advance to the final round on Sunday. The total prize pool is set at Ksh 450,000, with the winner receiving Ksh 104,000. This event is both a WAGR (World Amateur Golf Ranking) and KAGC ranking event, offering players local and international recognition and an opportunity to measure their performance on the global amateur golf stage.
